MARTA
Tell us about yourself
Half Spanish and half American, I was born in Michigan, lived in Spain for most of my life, and moved to Switzerland in 2022. Although I studied behavioral science and currently study strategic marketing, I always felt a calling to inspire others through fitness and health. To deepen my understanding of true health, I became a certified holistic health coach. Paired with every Power class I teach, I am dedicated to motivating everyone to discover their potential and reach new heights of strength and power. Outside of Velocity, you can find me running, meeting friends for brunch or coffee, reading, or experimenting with new recipes.
How did you discover Velocity?
While living in the US, I attended similar classes, and I loved the concept of group workouts in such a fun environment. In 2019, I came to Switzerland and visited my family; obviously, I was curious to see if there was an indoor cycling studio. Lo and behold, there it was, Velocity Zug! In a blink of an eye, I booked my intro workout. I was immediately hooked and the rest is history. The energy, the atmosphere, and the motivation were unmatchable.
Why Velocity?
After two years of coaching at Velocity, I’ve had the privilege of engaging with coaches who have incredible stories to share. Velocity is a place where motivation is unparalleled; the dark room, dynamic lights, motivational speeches, shared cheers, and upbeat music create an exceptional experience. Most importantly, the room is filled with the most amazing and inspiring community I have ever met.
What was the most challenging part of the Power Academy?
Power has been mentally challenging. Mastering the skill to multitask has been stressful but also an amazing journey to endure. Developing the confidence to coach, motivate, and effectively explain every movement was a gradual process. It was when I began to trust my abilities and stepped out of my comfort zone from one class to the next that I truly experienced magic.
What’s going to make your Power workouts unique?
I embrace the concept of bio-individuality, tailoring each Power workout uniquely to you. My approach is to create a flow on the xformer that is both methodical and progressive, yet always challenging.
I’ll be your biggest cheerleader, pushing you to discover your capabilities and test your limits with every exercise and challenge. Whether you’re a regular, a beginner, or having a good or bad day, life’s journey isn’t always straightforward. In our sessions, I encourage you to embrace the challenges of the day, aiming to deliver the results you desire and moments of pure joy.
The power push will be no joke, helping you increase that heart rate and finish the class knowing you did an amazing job. I will be there with you, to accomplish this major win as a team.
My ultimate goal is for you to walk out of the studio feeling grounded, strong, balanced, and immensely proud of the progress you’ve made.
What music will you play in your workouts?
Although I tend to play more intense music in Veloburn, Power will be full of pop hits and throwbacks, allowing you to sing along and provide you with an amazing beat to keep you motivated.
Fun fact about you?
At Starbucks, I tell them my name is Alex because I don’t like when they misspell Marta and write Martha instead.
Catch Marta in Zug every Friday at 7:15, 9:15 and 12:00.
