Ready for some Velobeat rides?
Sam
Tell us about yourself
Born in England, grew up in Lausanne and now living in Zürich, I’ll bring an international vibe with a cheeky British charm. My goal is for you to leave the room with a smile on your face, wanting to come back for more. Having gotten addicted to spinning only a few years ago, I would never have expected one day to be up on the podium. I hope to motivate and inspire you the way everyone did for me. My rides will definitely challenge you, but I’ll be there with you the whole time reminding you never to give up!
How did you discover Velocity?
My best friend introduced me to spinning in Chicago 4 years ago. From that day I’ve been addicted to it and had a spinning bike at home that I used daily during Covid. When the same friend came back to Switzerland, she introduced me to Velocity and the rest is history!
Why Velocity?
Firstly because of the variety of workouts – Burn, Beat and Power, and the variety of amazing and diverse coaches. Whatever you are in the mood for, you can find something almost every day that suits what you want to do. Secondly because of the people who work there. Everyone is so kind and welcoming from the moment you step through that front door.
What was the most challenging part of the Velobeat Academy?
The mental side of the academy! I was expecting the physical side to be tough, but the mental side was even more intense. Trying to stay on beat, count and cue the songs, remember the moves, and think about what’s coming up in all the following songs… Brain-numbing!
What’s going to make your workouts unique?
My workouts will be challenging but a lot of fun. I hope to motivate and inspire you not to give up and to push through the tough parts. If you leave the room with a smile on your face, no matter what happened in your day or week, then I will have accomplished my goal!
What music will you play in your workouts?
Get ready for a mix of electropop, EDM, house and club bangers! If you’re lucky, I’ll throw in a couple of punk rock or techno songs into the mix just to change things up a bit. My playlists will be a mix of my favorite songs, so I hope to have you dancing and singing on the bike and forgetting about the burn in your legs and arms!
Fun fact about you?
A month before auditioning to become a coach, I fell off my bike in front of the supermarket and broke my ribs. The cakes in my bag that I had just bought however survived without any damage. It’s good to know that I am more fragile than an Italian pastry…!

Tell us about yourself
I grew up in a small village near Basel, so I love being outside and discovering new things.
As a teenager I was always active: I played ice hockey, went trail- and downhill biking, danced salsa, and break dance. Today I love biking, kiteboarding, and outdoor climbing. The power of nature and sports fills me with energy and focus for my daily life as a professional musician. In my workouts, I’ll help you reach your goals by not only strengthening your body but also your mind.
How did you discover Velocity?
My girlfriend brought me to Velocity, and now we’re here!
Why Velocity?
The workouts are hard but fun, the people are inspiring and everyone feels welcome.
Velocity just radiates positivity for me!
What was the most challenging part of the Velobeat Academy?
Finding the right music to create the perfect flow and bring the workout experience to life.
What’s going to make your workouts unique?
My goal is not only to create workouts for your body but also for your mind.
There are always going to be new challenges in my rides, so join regularly and find out for yourself.
What music will you play in your workouts?
Rock, House, Hip Hop, Hardstyle and Funk – a good mix.
Fun fact about you?
At least once a week I go swimming in the lake, even during the winter months.
