Manu

Tell us about yourself

I grew up in Winterthur and I live in Zurich. In my free time I love doing sports, enjoying a cup of coffee somewhere near the lake or river and taking long walks listening to podcasts or audio books.

How did you discover Velocity?

A friend brought me here and I’ve been coming back ever since. Thanks Ruby!

Why Velocity?

The dedication and commitment to indoor cycling: of the riders and also of the coaches. The energy in class is unique and so infectious. I’ve been to other group fitness classes before, but Velocity hits different. You have to experience it yourself.

What was the most challenging part of the Velobeat auditions?

Access my resources on days, when I felt mentally or physically completely drained, or even worse: both. Music definitely helps.

What’s going to make your Velobeat rides unique?

We all have our mental issues. Sometimes it helps, to get out of our heads and into the body. That’s why my coaching rather focuses on physical than psychological aspects.

What music will you play in your workouts?

Diversity lies in my nature. Therefore you’ll find different styles of music in my workouts. But electronic music and pop will most likely be part of it.

Fun fact about you?

I usually answer my mother’s messages with a film or radio drama quote.

Catch Manu on the schedule in West every Thursday at 19:10 starting March 3rd and Sundays at 11:10.

Nat

Tell us about yourself

Originally from Poland, but in the past 5 years, I have been living in NYC, Paris, and backpacking in Southeast Asia. I moved to Switzerland around a year ago and fully enjoying life in Zurich. By education a nutritionist, and since over 10 years working as a dance teacher and choreographer. Growing up with semi-professional dancers as parents and grandparents, dance naturally became my biggest passion. I am excited to be able to transfer that passion on the bike. Apart from my love for groove, I am passionate about cooking and generally excited about good food, love crafting, painting, and I’m always down to spend time in nature.

How did you discover Velocity?

A few of my dance students, who quickly became my friends, introduced me to Velobeat. And I immediately fell in love with the vibe, the workout, and the bike.

Why Velocity?

People. From the moment you enter the studio you see all those amazing smiling faces, always welcoming, always caring, always professional. And you know what, they don’t pretend, they actually really care!

What was the most challenging part of the Velobeat auditions?

I think the most challenging part was to keep my energy under control. When I hear my favorite music, I go nuts and lose the structure. Learning how to control that and at the same time don’t lose the natural enthusiasm.

What’s going to make your Velobeat rides unique?

You not gonna ride, you gonna party on the bike!

What music will you play in your workouts?

Hip Hop, RnB, Reggaeton, Electro Funk

Fun fact about you?

In the past, I hated biking! Generally, till 5 years ago sport wasn’t really my thing, let’s say. For almost half of my life, I was seriously overweight and struggled a lot to force myself to do some sport. But now, especially spinning, it’s a pure pleasure. So honestly, if I can do it, anyone can!

Catch Nat every Monday in Enge at 6:45 starting March 7th and every Wednesday at 17:30 in West.
