Top 3 Reasons to Work Out Inside During Summer

By Casey – 03 August 2024

The Summer heat has finally arrived and while we are loving it, when it comes to working out, there are many reasons to exercise indoors. In the blog post below, we’ll explain why it makes sense to beat the summer heat by taking your workouts inside. Don’t forget, on August 9th and 16th, we’ll help you cool off post-workout with a refreshing Aperol Spritz. Grab your spot in the link below.

1. STAY COOL

When temperatures start to rise, exercise can fatigue the body more than usual. Sometimes temperatures can rise to dangerous levels and lead to sunstroke or heat exhaustion. Working out indoors allows you to have better control of your workout environment, so you can push harder than you would be able to outdoors.
At Velocity, all of our studios are air-conditioned, so we make sure your body is working with the same efficiency all year round.

2. KEEP HYDRATED

Higher temperatures mean more sweat, which requires us to drink more water to stay hydrated. With an outdoor workout, it can be difficult to keep enough water with you to stay hydrated. Working out indoors gives you access to unlimited water, so you can make sure to replenish loss of electrolytes.

3. AVOID THE SUN

Too much exposure to the sun can lead to health issues, like sunburn and heat stroke. It can be difficult to keep your skin protected when sweating outdoors. By taking your workout indoors, you won’t need to worry about sunscreen and can focus on crushing your goals. In our dark room, you never have to worry about too much sun exposure 😉
