New Veloburn Coach: Andreas

Tell us a bit about you

I am coming from a small city in Greece, I love football, tennis, and swimming.

How did you first discover Velocity?

I found out about Velocity while I was searching for a job through the internet and applied to audition!

Why Velocity? What do you think you’ll find here that’s unlike anywhere else?

Well, I love the whole atmosphere in Velocity. Our coaches during the academy as well as the owners were really helpful and showed a lot of respect and trust. Velocity is a serious, organized, and family spirit business where you can evolve both as a professional and as a personality.

What was the most challenging part of the Veloburn auditions?

Settling in properly on the bike. True fact, I had never been on a spinning bike before the audition.

Every coach has something unique in their workouts. What makes your Veloburn rides unique?

My energy!!

What music will you play in your workouts?

Techno, hip hop, electronic, pop, house

New Veloburn Coach: Sanders

Tell us a bit about you

As a preacher’s son I grew up in church and took a great interest in music. Also, I was part of my school marching band. When I moved to the United States at age 16, I became more interested in sports and got involved in cross country, soccer, track. After high school, I received a scholarship for track and cross country. While I was attending University, I changed my major to vocal performance and minor in classical guitar and piano and took modern dance as an elective. I also did 2 years of theater with the gold coast opera of Boca Raton under the Artistic Director/Conductor Dr. Thomas Cavendish. In 2003, I moved to Boston, Massachusetts to further my vocal study of R & B with Professor Lawrence “Larry” Watson at Berkeley University. While I was there, I took salsa classes and started my fitness career as a personal trainer under FitCore By Sanders. As for my hobbies, I enjoy running, wall climbing, bike riding, dancing, and my next goal is to be a better swimmer. I work part-time as a music producer and arranger under my production company Onyxtune. On November 24, 2017, I released a single called Sonar under my artist name Alcide.

How did you discover Velocity?

I was looking for a job that would hire English speakers in Switzerland. At first, when I saw your ad, it didn’t make any sense to me. I asked myself  “why would people come to a spinning class with an English, not German-speaking teacher.” Now I understand it is to attract the diverse, international community in Zurich and Zug. I’m looking forward to contributing to it.

Why Velocity? What do you think you’ll find here that’s unlike anywhere else?

What I mostly like about Velocity is how everyone is willing to help each other improve themselves. I like the way the Master coaches George and Fabian push to get the best out of everyone in the program. Mal and Travis are amazing, and Travis always has some good advice on things I can do to get better and more efficient. I feel elated every time I’m heading down to the studio.

What was the most challenging part of the Veloburn auditions?

I started to get ready for the audition; I had already picked my music and knew what I wanted to do. However, 3 days prior to the audition I went on Velocity Live and watched George, Fabian, and Felizia’s classes. I was amazed and realized that Veloburn was completely different from what I’m used to. So, I got on the bike and tried to change my routine 2 days prior. After a while, I said to myself that I would go to the audition and do what I usually do. If I get selected, this will mean that they accept me for who I am. Well, my plan worked because I’m still here! 🙂
